Introduction
The aim of this memo is to express my interest in becoming a bank manager. Currently, I am a Finance Major student. The desire to pursue a business-related course is informed by the fact that I come from an entrepreneurial family. On several occasions, I have represented my father in business meetings. Besides, I have run different errands such as collecting receipts and filing tax returns on behalf of the family. Therefore, I believe I have considerable experience in managing a business, which further shapes my dream to be a bank manager in the future. I am naturally a go-getter and work hard to realize my goals. I chose Finance because I realized it would equip me with the relevant skills needed in the increasingly changing business world. It is against this backdrop that I aspire to be a bank manager in the future.
Field of Interest
A Major in Finance concentrates on investment decisions, financial planning, and analysis of expenses. Studying the course helps students to assess how companies have performed previously (Larson, 2018). As such, they can rely on past insights to forecast how the company will perform in the future. In the process, they also learn to communicate information that leads to strategic changes in the company. Most of the assignments are project-driven and could be personal case studies to improve an individual’s problem-solving skill, or group activities that that help students to interact with others. Classes in finance major include math, psychology, economics, accounting, and psychology (Larson, 2018). As a finance major student, I have limitless possibilities. I can be employed in various sectors such as banking, hotel, mega-corporations, government, and private institutions. Most of the companies are looking for an individual who can make strategic changes that improve profitability. Besides, they prefer individuals who are analytical and creative.
Responsibilities
As a bank manager, my duties will be to supervise and manage a bank branch. A bank manager oversees all the financial transactions, reporting, hiring and training of staff (Kaveri, 2019). I will also be expected to grow the revenue for the branch. My duties will include supervising and managing employees, providing excellent customer services, and assisting customers.
