Numerous archeological discoveries were made at various sites worldwide and connect the human species with their history. The process took place during different eras, with each era characterized by unique artifacts.
Among the most famous ancient artifacts is the Olmec colossal heads. They are carved in the human head and are believed to depict some particular Olmec leaders due to the cost incurred during their creation. The reason they only reperesent the head, is explained in Mesoameriacn culture. They believed that, only the head contained the emotions, soul, experience, and an individual’s face (Milan-Museum, 2019). How the faces were designed in a naturalistic and expressive manner was the major reason they were considerd to represents the actual Olmec rulers. They remain to be the most most debated and mysterious artifacts in this era.
