Cynthia Lummis is a Republican Party member of the United States Senate from Wyoming. She took office on 3rd January 2021, and her term will end on 3rd January 2027. Lummis studied for a bachelor's degree in animal science and biology at the University of Wyoming. Experiences in her career include working as the director of Wyoming state lands and investments. She was a general counsel to former governor Jim Geringer and a clerk at Wyoming supreme court (Ballotpedia, 2021). Lummis contested for the U.S Senate seat to represent Wyoming and won on 3rd November 2020. Senator Lummis believes in a free and democratic business environment. Recently, she lambasted a proposal by the Biden administration that required banks to report to the IRS for every private and public transaction exceeding $600 (Gov, 2021a). Regarding the proposal, Lummis argued that the government must uphold Americans' privacy rights.
Lummis encompasses diverse opinions on specific issues. Being a member of the Republican party, she advocates for tax reduction as economic stimulation and advancing personal financial freedom.
