Comparison between Charlemagne and Shihuangdi Student Name: Student Number: Institution: Two ancient rulers are discussed in this anecdote, Charlemagne and Shihuangdi. The two rulers will be compared in this text on the subject of their most significant legacies that they made and are remembered for by their people of their nations and the whole world in general. Charlemagne, also known as Charles the Great, was a king whose territory covered both Eastern and Western Europe. He led two kingdoms of the Franks, the Lombards and became the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. His reign started on 10th July of 774 BC and ended on 28th January 814 BC. Charlemagne led his military campaigns while waging wars that lasted for a long time on his rivals while Shihuangdi built a powerful military organization known as the Terracotta Army. However, the two ancient rulers were different in many ways. Firstly, Charlemagne united his people and fought his neighboring territories with the aim of converting them in to Christianity and spreading the religion. On the other hand, Shihuangdi was unified his people in order to create an empire. This is the reason why the latter is referred to as the first Emperor of the Qin Dynasty and China in general. Secondly, in his leadership, the main concern of Charlemagne was to exercise his military powers, expand his empire, promote education and spread Christianity. However, Nick...
