Causes of the Historical Event
Apartheid of South Africa has deep-seated racial discrimination in African society at its bottom since its independence. For example, soon after its independence, South Africa introduced the Land Act 2013, stripping Black Africans of the property rights. The dominance of whites in African society laid the foundation for allowing them to enjoy certain privileges. Ultimately, their supremacy rose to its peak as the National Party officially announced Apartheid in 1953 (Allen, 2005). It shows that the Apartheid is centrally rooted in racial discrimination combined with the white-dominated culture, South Africa.
The Course of the Historical Event
The course of the historical event began from the time of enforcing the land act. The Great Depression (1926-1930) catalysed the sentiments behind segregation. It further advanced the narrative that the whites deserve a more significant share of GDP due to their superiority. Since 1930, the National Party has been supporting the Nazi's style of governance based on complete segregation. A surprise victory in the election in 1948 allowed the National Party to unleash its planned initiatives that shaped into enforcement of Apartheid (Allen, 2005).
