What I found interesting in chapter 25 of “Give Me Liberty! An American History” by Eric Foner is the civil rights revolution. John F Kennedy was the president of the US from January 1961 to November 1963 and he concentrated on civil rights revolutions. The equal rights to the US citizens was a push by John F Kennedy for the push to increase social and economic performance in the nation. Kennedy’s policies and actions focused on achieving the intended national unity for the accomplishment of macroeconomic goals in the US. The local and foreign policies were developed in lessening hostility in the nation. The civil rights revolution was an appeal by John F Kennedy to allow black voters in the US for an increased national unity. The equal opportunities intended to provide women and the black population to actively contribute to national progress. The civil rights revolution of the 1960s shaped the current US by providing chances to all citizens. Racial discrimination in the US started from the early days of the slave trade. Racial segregation was evident with black people being denied access to different public facilities such as parks, hotels, trains, and buses. After the abolition of slavery in the US black citizens and other immigrants were denied civil rights. The civil rights revolution of the 1960s was a strong force to end cases of racial discrimination and racial segregation.
