Description of My Personal World View
My worldview presents the guiding principles determining social and professional encounters in decision making. These guiding principles help me make sense of the world's reality besides guiding me ethically, and morally. In the process, they help integrate cultural, spiritual, and religious elements in making proper decisions on daily challenges (Bavinck, 2019; Doreen, 2016). I am a Christian, and I believe that I was created in God's image to fulfill. My life is meant to achieve a particular purpose. I also acknowledge that God is the creator of everything that exists. He has absolute control and power over the creation. God has given all of us the freedom to choose between right and wrong. When we disobey the warning from God, we will be punished on judgment day. But before that judgment day, we have much time to change our ways and serve humanity with dignity and respect.
God gave every person they can use to serve others and God. This means that everybody has a unique occupation and specializes on a particular path in serving God. That is why we have different professions where people serve while alive. Those who do not use their talent or profession well are bound to receive punishment when they die. I believe in the Holy Bible's divine power, which represents summarizes what God needs from us in the ten commandments. Anyone who goes against the commandments disobeys God, and punishment awaits them on judgment day (Doreen, 2016). For instance, one of the ten commandments prohibits humans from killing because. My Christian religious belief makes me acknowledge that I should always dedicate my time to God's service and the teaching from the Bible. Besides being a Christian, I am human and is bound to make a mistake. Only divine beings like God is perfect. With this knowledge, I always try to avoid making deliberate mistakes and seek forgiveness whenever I commit wrong. Through the teachings of the Bible, I know that forgiveness is paramount, and I should always be ready to forgive whenever I am wronged (Doreen, 2016).
Apart from Christianity shaping my behavior and perception of good and evil, I also acknowledge the importance of environmental factors and societal norms in determining my behavior. As a nurse, I sometimes go against the Bible instructions not to kill whenever I use anesthesia on a patient. Some patients go through so much pain due to illness or accidents, and death only relieves them (Lew et al., 2015). This way, the use of anesthesia is not cursed. From this instance, I believe that I do not have to follow the provisions of the Bible blindly. I sometimes need to think beyond to make a decision that avoids conflicts of interest.
I admit that it has been challenging to balance my professional life and adhere to the Christian values based on Bible teachings. My social and professional life interaction has altered by the environment and secularized the perception I had about politics, history, man, God, and science. Most times, I find myself conflicting with the Bible teachings and society's expectations. In such a...
