While the nursing profession has largely concentrated on the physical and mental welfare of populations, intricate factors such as social justice come into play and should be addressed for the development of a sustainable plan addressing health disparities. Existing literature has extensively concentrated on the social and contextual issues that lead to health disparities in underserved groups and identified three key areas of improvement to address health inequality (Edmonson et al., 2017).
