Answer 1 The conception of who I am or my personal identity has changed over time. In particular, personal identity entails how an individual perceives himself or herself and it keeps evolving in the course of one’s life. There exist numerous things that shape a person’s identity, such as culture, race, emotions, beliefs, habits, career, values, talents, goals, personality, interests, and principles. Moreover, an individual’s environment also shapes one personal identity.
Specifically, my personal identity keeps changing based on the goals I want to achieve in my life. For example, for me to graduate successfully, it means I must pass all exams in all the courses I am taking. In that light, I have to change my habits, behaviors, and emotions so that I can focus on my studies to succeed in all the courses. If I do not change my personal identity, it means that I might not achieve the established goals, which will hinder my competitiveness in my career.
