Every year, countless, hardworking and over achieving students become nurses with the aim to be a source of relief. People view nursing as a profession that converges social and medical professionalism, (Salmond et al., 2017). However, many people still feed into the stereotypes portrayed by the media, false news, stories and etc. People believe that nurses are underpaid, overworked, exploited and not given enough credit as they deserve. The media depicts that nurses are subject to poor work environment, underappreciation, division of power and lack of autonomy. Some people also believe that nursing is a profession with a lower social status. Besides media, lack of awareness among public is another potential factor contributing to such perception of nurses.
