These issues include promotional opportunities, workloads, and the organization’s management style, such that a high level of oppression from the nurse managers influence undesirable effects. Such undesirable outcomes include a high rate of nurse turnover (Hayes et al. 2006). This argument aims to discuss nurse turnover as a factor affecting nursing practice and how different professional measures can be put in place to ensure patient safety and outcome are safeguarded. High Nurse Turnover in hospitals harms the patient’s health outcome and the quality of care provided in those particular hospitals (Hayes et al. 2006). Nurse turnover leads to a shortage of nursing staff, which affects patient outcomes and satisfaction. Various organizational institutions have the challenge of retaining the same professional nurses while hiring new nurses to the clinic. Nurse turnover affects the nurses’ productivity and morale that provide healthcare services since they are regularly overworked and given vital responsibilities.
