Student Characteristics: For this lesson, the setting of the practicum is health, medicine, and nursing. The students taking this course, a total of 650 students, were divided into 25 groups with each group containing 26 students.

Aim of the Lesson: This lesson aims to plan and structure the most efficient ways of teaching students the most effective methods of curbing and eradicating catheter-associated urinary infections (CAUTIs), their control, epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment. The lesson will contain reviews and descriptions of data collection methods, assessment of information, interpretation, and application in the practicum.

Learning Objectives: By the end of the course, students will be able to explain the meaning of CAUTIs, a description of how the infections occur in the human body, symptoms of a CAUTI, their causes, how it is diagnosed, and the potential complications of the virus. Further, the students will be able to have full insight into how CAUTIs are treated and how they can be prevented. Additional lessons on the population of patients in specific countries will be offered to examine the prevalence of the condition to decipher the most effective tactical methods.

Assumed Prior Knowledge: Students know the aims of the lesson and the whole course in general. They are aware of the topics and objectives of morning lessons.

Resources: Some of the resources that will be used in the lesson include: whiteboard markers, flip papers, blue tac, marking of registers for record-keeping, handouts, worksheets, proformas given to students, PowerPoint presentations, making of copies of the performances, assignment handouts, projectors, and memory sticks.

How Learning will be identified: Students will recognize the course of the learning using lesson plans displayed in class, tutor and lecturer observations, and class representatives.

Identifying the needs of the Learners: To determine the needs of the nursing students and their understanding of the topics to be covered in the lesson, there will be an assessment of their needs. This will enable the educator to obtain more information and knowledge on the expectations of the students, their cognitive, social, and emotional abilities. It will aid in establishing the extent of the students' comprehension, identify their areas of interest, and the most efficient channel of administration. Therefore, the educator will use group discussions and other differentiation styles, such as PowerPoint presentations and questions.
