Why was Practical learning unsuccessful?
Practical learning was unsuccessful for various reasons. One, the ruling class vigorously rejected the demands of the learning process of maintaining equality among all people. The rich and wealthy, utilized Confucian social stratification that enabled them to rule over the poor without contest. However, practical learning brought on classical literature such as Catholicism, which dictated the equality of all people. Since it threatened the status quo, the ruling class imprisoned and executed its scholars. Equality did not become a reality; thus, practical learning failed. Two, because people viewed it as a phenomenon for cultural history; therefore, they failed to support it.
