An internship allows a student to grow personally and professionally. An internship program allows students to gain work experience and prepare them as they enter the workforce (Aliza, 2019). It is critical in healthcare to gain real-world experience and get a sense of how the job works. Therefore, students need to participate in internship programs to benefit them.
The International Council of Nurses (ICN) is a global federation of millions of nurses. They are looking for interns to assist with various activities, including developing a strategy to promote collaboration among major global eHealth organizations on international standards development, initiatives to promote eHealth implementation across different regions, and eHealth workforce development. If I were to apply for a three-month internship with the ICN eHealth Programme, I would emphasize my diverse skills and knowledge and assure them that I am the best fit for their opening.
The ICN has four goals and needs interns who share the same goals. The first goal is to strengthen professional ties with other stakeholders. In contrast, the second goal is to provide strategic leadership to enable nurses and nursing organizations to advance nursing worldwide. The third goal is to impact the development and implementation of health and other related policies to improve health outcomes. The fourth goal that will help achieve ICN's goals is identifying, securing, and diversifying business and income opportunities (International Council of Nurses, n.d.). These objectives must be relevant and related to the objectives of the interns. As someone who aspires to be an intern at ICN, my goals are intertwined with theirs.
