Teaching Method

The instructor will adopt a cognitive development teaching method. This method is ideal as it helps learners in understanding and synthesizing information (Dorgu, 2015). Specifically, the instructors will utilize discussion and questioning method which are effective in promoting learning. For discussion purposes, the instructor will divide the participants into small groups depending on their learning needs, allow each group to discuss an issue amongst themselves, and share their findings with the rest of the participants. For questioning purposes, the instructor will pose a question to the whole group and then receive responses from the participants. 

Activities

* Introduce the topic of influenza by asking the participants what they think it is. You should get responses from a few residents and then move on to the next activity
* Issue the participants with the self-assessment questionnaire. Be sure to explain that the questionnaires are meant to assess their knowledge about influenza prior to the lesson. The questions should be close-ended with multiple-choices a, b, c, d. The key questions in the questionnaire are:
