Culturally sensitive care is care that has the potential to be relevantly responsive to the circumstances, feelings, or attitudes of groups of people with common and distinguishing language, religion, food, nationality, or even cultural heritage (Purnell, 2002). Also, it is described as health care in which providers offer treatment and services relevant to a patient's expectations and need. Culturally sensitive care is applied within the healthcare system when providing health information to a patient, displaying sensitivity and care, and showing sympathy and genuine support when interacting with patients.
Purnell’s model Theory and Organizational Framework
The Healthcare system has undergone a tremendous change in cultural diversity, thus the need to discourse on the issue to enable individualized and integrated treatment.
