There is a difference between underdeveloped, developing, and developed countries. However, many researchers refer to underdeveloped as developing countries. For this assignment, it is important to distinguish the differences between the three. Underdeveloped countries have very low Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita (meaning lack of financial resources or monies), and infrastructure is poorly built or non- existence (facilities/shelter); limited food/adequate water supply; healthcare access for the poor; and lower life expectancies. Developed countries have more financial resources to help with food shortages/ water supply/ facilities/shelter; and life expectancy is longer as compared to the underdeveloped countries. Developed countries GDP is very high, which means that they have access to financial resources that helps implementing technology, solid infrastructure, stable government, and access to healthcare.
Break down the differences in global health care infrastructure.

Niger is an underdeveloped country. In Niger there is a chronic lack of medical resources such as medicines, supplies, and even staff. The country survives on a minor government healthcare system complemented by private, non-governmental groups, charitable, as well as religious organizations. In 2005, the total expenditure in health care per capital was 25 dollars. The country had 377 medical professionals in 2004, which equates to 0.03 per 10,000 of the population (Boukar, 2012). Majority of people have no health insurance.
Greece is a developing country. Health care infrastructure is well organized to try and cater for all the population. The National Health System (NHS) runs the healthcare system with about 270 general and specialized hospitals and 13 military hospitals as of 2017. There are about 46,200 beds. The number of physicians are estimated at 4.9 per 1,000 population and about 3.8 nurses per 1,000 population. Universal health insurance is provided through NHS but also the private sector also provides insurance coverage (Maresso, 2018).
The United States has a vast health care infrastructure with about 5,627 hospitals, 900,000 beds, and approximately 900 billion dollars healthcare budget. There was also approximately 2,800 retail health clinics as of 2017. Majority of health care facilities in U.S. are privately run. In 2014, the U.S. spent about 9,403 dollars per capita in health care. In 2002, the country had 2.3 physicians per 1,000 population. Unlike other developed countries, the U.S. does not have universal health care insurance coverage.
The United States does not have a uniform health care delivery model. As opposed to a single-payer system or a multi-payer system, the U.S. has what can be termed as a hybrid system (Dorning, 2016). This is because as of 2014, the majority of health care spending comes from private funds (47%), other funding comes from households (28%), and the rest comes from private businesses (20%).
