When it comes to health matters, a lot is often ignored in the issues to do with mental health. It is often derided as something that cannot really impact a person that much, yet in real sense, it really hits on a good portion of the global population. While some often suffer in silence, there is a significant portion who choose to step out and seek medical assistance. To this end therefore, depression clearly stands out as one of the major mental health issues that affect people. It is usually the beginning of various other health and social problems that can affect an individual as well as the people around them. It is worth giving it a serious avenue, as far as the medical field is concerned. The population that is under study is adults within a rehabilitation center.
Depression is a critical issue that affects millions of individuals in the United States and across the world. Millions of dollars are used in providing care to people diagnosed with depression, and it has become essential to evaluate effective non-pharmacologic strategies that would be used by the depressed individuals and those who are at high risk of getting diagnosed with depression. Studying this with more focus can help provide a clearer picture of not only the fraction of the population already affected by the same, but also the one that is predisposed to the same.
People from different cultural backgrounds are exposed to various psychosocial environments, and this influences people’s mental health differently. The objectives of promoting intense and regular physical activities in managing depression include that it would help in increasing awareness regarding depressions, it would help in providing useful non-pharmacologic methods for managing depression and will help nurses understand how they can improve their patients’ treatment and recovery program through physical exercises.
