The Rosenthal Effect is an optimistic self-fulfillment prediction and indicates that the instructor’s expectations significantly drive student performance. According to this concept, higher expectations concerning student performance on a particular project yield performance improvements. When people expect some behaviors from others, they are more inclined to act to increase the chances of the anticipated behavior occurring. Critical factors in the Rosenthal Effect include the instructor’s expectations. These expectations could be classified into negative or positive, related to a group of learners or a learner, related to the performance and abilities or learning characteristics (e.g., hardworking or lazy), and connected to one’s project or course (e.g., physical education or psychology research paper) (Niari, Manousou, & Lionarakis, 2016).
