Small Group Description: the grade level of the designated students is a kindergarten and the specific lesson plan is a mathematics class. The course's goal is to help students get comfortable using and navigating American currency. Students will learn to recognize common American coins and learn proper coin usage in this lesson ( penny, dime, nickel, and a quarter). Through everyday use, the students will learn the value of these currencies and their practical applications

The instructor will utilize two poster boards to display the four coins, their monetary and mathematical values, and information on how to recognize each coin by its color, size, and design.

The instructor will next use a musical approach, playing a collection of videos from youtube in the form of a song, to educate the class on the various coins and their values. After that, the instructor will hand out questionnaires for the pupils to do in pairs, and she will assist those students who require it during the autonomous activity.

The students will "play out" situations where they need to "prepare" a specified value of coins in a "real-world" setting using fake coins. o The instructor will review many case studies, discussing how to approach and overcome the difficulties they provide. o The class will then be divided into pairs to discuss and figure out solutions to problems, with the teacher providing further assistance as needed.

During the weekly sessions, the teacher might reach out to the Bilingual Expatriate at the school serving the ELL children for assistance in teaching the same material to both groups of students

Poster boards with images are a great resource for pupils who learn better with pictures, such as those with special needs. They will be able to execute the mathematical problems provided to them once they have mastered the "match" physically and name and worth of the coin, and they will be given more time to finish the worksheets or exams.
