The Law Project Psychiatric Rights (PsychRights) is an organization that fights against abuses facing people with mental illnesses. The mandate of the organization is to provide individual legal representation to individuals with mental illnesses who have been aggrieved in one way or another. As a non-profit organization, it strives to promote public interest through a law firm that carries out coordinated, tactical, and legal support to these individuals (PsychRights, 2019).
The role of the organization is to fight abuses of involuntary medication and forced electroshock therapies to people with mental illness.
