Family Case Study Name Institution Due Date Family Case Study All cultures around the world approach parenting differently. In some cultures, parents forge close relationships with their children. However, in others, parents are as far away from their children as possible. In both sets of families, parents always want the best for their children and do what is within their power to see their children succeed. In the case under review, Sara Park is depicted as a parent who takes the happiness and future of her children quite seriously. Her sole reason for moving to Canada was so that she could guarantee her son a great future. To her, giving Kyle the best that life could offer meant sacrificing her time and home and moving thousands of miles away. Park’s situation reeks of a sacrificial character and shows that she is indeed ready to give up an important part of her life to see her son excel in life. For Park, expression of affection for her children often comes with the way she offers or gives herself towards their futures. She does love her children and this comes out clearly in the way she considers her happiness and feelings secondary while those of her children are primary. In the study, Park had never been to Canada but only believed that it would be the perfect spot for her child to flourish. Even though he did and she did find love and got married, her lack of hesitation to change drop everything in the name of securing her son’s future is worth mentioning. Park and Smith are very involved parents. The two seem to care about their children and are doing their best to make sure that their children have the futures they desire. Regardless of the type of parents that Smith and Park are, they might also encounter challenges especially considering their children have multiple identities.
