Facebook Addiction: Cyber Message Argument

Other (Not Listed) Instructions:

This Project #4 Assignment called Cyber-message argument and persuade.
Thank you for been helped me with my project #3 called "Negative effect of Facebook" Now my Instructors wants to use the same ideas to a different audience and for a persuasive purpose. Use everything you know about audience, logical appeal, ethical appeal and emotional appeal to choose the best arguments and approaches for our specific and clearly identified reader.
Pretend that my targeting audience is my daughter is 18years old and her name is Fay. She is addicted to Facebook.
My Instructor's instruction: Write a block style informal letter to my daughter as my audience, need to analyzing the audience and choosing strategies to persuade her.
Here some questions that she added. what does my daughter know about the topic or situation? Does she see the situation as a problem? Does she see it as a serious problem? if not, you'll need to get her to pay attention and be concerned before you can convince her to do anything. What do you want your readers to do or believe as a result of reading your argument?
Then work your way through the appeals. Will logic and reason be most effective for this audience? Will emotional appeals work best? If so which emotions and how can you steer the audience toward those feelings? Next, plan your ethical appeals. How do you want to come across?
Points or thesis: This is a practical argument, the kind that often asks people to change what they believe or do. Your thesis or point should be clear, even if it's not stated.
for instance, your message to your cyborg sister might look like this: "You should take a break from social media because comparing yourself to others online seems to be leading to irritability, low self-esteem, and depression." Notice that your cyborg sister might object to this claim and stop reading. If that's the case, you may not be able to include the thesis in your argument. If your audience would react negatively, your thesis may appear only on the cover sheet on top of your final version.
Format, tone, and style: Consider the audience and context to determine the most appropriate format-a letter for instance. consider how formal your writing style should be and what tone might be appropriate.
Organization and presentation: Unlike essays, memos and emails usually get to the point right away, so your introduction may be very short. Use logical paragraphs with topic sentences to help your readers follow your ideas.
As usual, you'll want to revise for effectiveness and clarity and to edit your work. For informal friendly letters, be sure you've used edited America English, with correct sentence structure, mechanics, and so on. Why? because sloppy editing damages your credibility. You want the reader to take you seriously, don't you?
The finished project should be about 1 page long. typed, single-spaced.
Please underline my thesis.

Dear Fay,
For the past few months I have come to realize that Facebook does not only help us to interact with our loved ones but it also affects us negatively especially when we spend a lot of time using it. I am a concerned parent because I have witnessed cases of Facebook addiction amongst teenagers. Therefore, I have decided to address this issue to you before it becomes a major problem in your life. I will highlighted a few adverse Facebook effects supported by studies from various sources around the earth in this letter with an aim of convincing you to effectively manage time and avoid prolonged Facebook usage,
Firstly, Facebook addiction promotes poor performance in different activities because of poor allocation of time. Therefore, as a parent. I have the ability to note adverse influence of Facebook by considering the time you allocate for studies versus amount of time you spend on Facebook. Besides, Facebook enables me to note the number of time spent online through following posts, comment and the last log in from your Facebook account. Therefore, considering that I am a caring parent with an objective of raising goal oriented children I would kindly request you to minimize amount of time you spend on Facebook. This is because poor performance in school and co-curricular activities will prevent you from getting into the college you deserve as a result of poor total grade.
Additionally, observation from different sources have highlighted that Facebook addicted individuals occasionally suffer depression and mood swings which eventually tampers with good communication and general behavior of individuals (Tabassum. 2018). Teenagers, especially girls highly experience mood swings than boys. As a result, poor misconduct...
