According to the article, the type of research design employed is the correlation research design. The design allows the researcher to establish some form of correlation between two variables or two closely related topics. At least two groups of data are required. It can be used in observational studies and case-control studies. Looking at the article, it is clear that the data sets being used to correlate early intervention, cognitive skills, and academic achievement. It shows that early intervention can be used to assist children from low-income households improved their cognitive skills to acquire academic achievement.
