Making decisions is easy taking them back or reconsidering takes effort and it becomes even more challenging if the decision made is legally bidding or involved some agreement or a convert of some sort. For example, if one wears a yellow pair of socks, steps outside and feels they are not matching his mood, it is easy to go back to the house and change into something more comfortable. However, if it is a written contract it then becomes hard and more challenging to unbreak the decision. Faustus's decision to sell his soul to the devil is put into a document which symbolized the seriousness of the decision. In the drama, this has an aspect of symbolism, allegory and imagery of what Faustus gives out.
