The hip-hop dance culture has a rich history that span for a long period of time since 1960s. In America to be precise, this culture is quite dominant among different racial groups and has been credited for such important values in the society as the embodiment of social justice, community, and understanding in a multicultural country like the USA. As far as Hollywood is concerned, this culture has been adopted in several movies in its relentless pursuit of excellence and social equality CITATION Mar161 \l 1033 (Fogarty, 2016). For instance, in the movies, Save the Last Dance and Street Dance 3D, the producers integrate different aspects of the hip-hop culture such as choreography into beautiful storylines while weaving through key social issues such as race, class, transgression, and hybridity. Therefore, this essay compares and contrasts two different essays based on the aforementioned movies to show how race, class, transgression, and hybridity are depicted in these films.
Indeed, class and race are highly controversial issues in America. Both films, Save the Last Dance and Street Dance 3D incorporate class and racial ideals through multiracial romance as far as the hip-hop culture is concerned CITATION Arz14 \l 1033 (Arzumanova, 2014).
