Headquartered in Qingdao, China, Haier is a consumer electronics and home appliances company that develops and sells well-versed mobile devices, air conditioners, washing machines, microwave ovens, and refrigerators. Though the company is based in Asia and has been operating since 1984, Haier has not restricted itself to Chinese or Asian markets. The company’s products are sold in all parts of the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe and of course, Asia. The target market of the company is the people who are in need of top-notch electronic and tech devices, irrespective of their age, gender, class, religion and geographic location. Amazingly, Haier manufactures and markets products that suit people from all financial backgrounds. For example, if a person is looking for a mobile phone at $200 or $300, then Haier Esteem V4, Esteem i80, and other devices are available in the market.
Haier’s biggest competitors are Panasonic, JVC, LeEco, TCL and Coocaa (Bellmann & Himpel 269). All of these companies have unveiled a variety of electronics and home appliances for the global customers. However, unlike Haier, their prices are reasonably high, which is why the consumers do not prefer them over Haier. For example, Panasonic recently launched its new full-frame camera that comes with a 47-megapixel sensor, but its price does not suit most of the consumers. In contrast, Haier’s full-frame mirror-less cameras cost them reasonable, and they are suitable for the youth and professional photographers.
