Museum Responses to Paa Joe's “Gates of No Return” And John Dunkley's “Neither Day nor Night"
The piece that I think is most “outside” is the artwork by Paa Joe: “Gates of No Return." This is because this artwork was done by a Ghanaian artist illustrating occurrences are happening outside his country and to numerous other people where he is not directly involved. On the other hand, the piece that I think is least “outside” is the artwork by John Dunkley: “Neither Day nor Night. “This is because his work is directly associated with the efforts of his nation gaining independence. The artist's life and works give an insight into the wider economic, societal aspects along with popular culture, that illustrated this period in the Caribbean.
Consequently, the two pieces of artwork demonstrate ancient cultures or beliefs of different places in the world. Paa Joe in his “Gates of No Return” work demonstrates how slaves were trafficked into America and the Caribbean and worked for many years....
