The Kingdom of God
In his content, Dr. Fee was trying to make people understand what Jesus was all about. He gave the account of Jesus Christ of how He came in another form, other than what the people were expecting. They were expecting the coming of a king in glory and might. Instead, Jesus came in humility and submitted to death (YWAM, 2015). He additionally suffered at the hands of men and persevered in hatred. In His miraculous deeds, Jesus performed several deeds and urged the people to remain silent about them. Dr. Fee urges Christians to repent and believe in the good news of Jesus Christ so that they may understand what Jesus was all about.
Dr. Fee's explanation of the Kingdom of God changes my understanding of what it means to be a Christian in several ways. First, a Christian is supposed to know that God reigns and triumphs over all things. Secondly, a Christian should understand that the kingdom of God was established when Jesus Christ came to this world. John the Baptist prepared the people by calling them to repentance and believing the good news. Therefore, being a Christian requires one to believe and repent before entering the kingdom.
As Christians, we should live our lives ethically in several ways. We should first repent and get saved in order to be part of the kingdom. Secondly, we should acknowledge God's work in the world and our lives to honor Him. Thirdly, we should care for God's creation, as it is a way of honoring God and appreciating His effort. Finally, we should lead a righteous life that depicts godliness and love for Jesus Christ (YWAM, 2014).
