In the video, Professor Huxford addresses creation awareness, one of the five areas of spiritual maturity. In creating awareness, we must understand that God created the heavens and the earth and all things that exist (AdventureGroup-Wye, 2022). These concepts are outlined in Genesis chapter one and at the beginning of the gospel of John, where the 'word' created the universe.
Being 'created in the image of God' means that we understand our role in creation. We are caretakers of God's creation, which makes our role very significant (AdventureGroup-Wye, 2022). The role makes us God's icons to the world through our calling to redeem and restore the purposes that God intended for His creation.
As used in Genesis chapters two, four, and six, Shalom means a person who comprehended themselves (Bible Society, 2018). It also means a person who understands others and is in the right relationship with God and His creation. The story of the fall of man, as depicted by the actions of Adam and Eve, disrupted Shalom when they mishandled God's creation and purpose. Everything was affected, and there was a need to fix the mess, the best reason why God sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to be our redeemer.
