Blanche was never married. We can see that she is someone who avoids reality and lives in her own imagination

While both Blanche and Stanley drink, her drinking is anti-social and tries hard to keep it a secret.

Scene Two
1 Why does Stanley think Blanche is wealthy? What proof does he use, and what evidence does he think is curiously missing?
Blanche admits that she always gives people an impression of wealth. She was raised on a plantation with money while Stanley and his friends were poorer.
