Kelvin had hardly taken two months from high school when his parents shared with him the idea of furthering his studies. This turn of events and focus wasn't a surprise, owing to the educational background of both his parents. Having a father and a mother, who were an attorney and a college professor respectively, any one individual could guess what they expected from the only surviving son in the family. You could only be uncertain of the time. Keane's family lived a modest life in Georgia's Brookhaven suburbs. Although the family tried to give the impression of living averagely reasonable for the typical middle-class citizens, you could barely fail to notice their sign of established affluence.
Asked about his career of choice, Kelvin gazed into the air and later, at the old photographs of his parents, when they graduated at the prestigious Harvard Law School. He then, gradually, stared at the graduation photo of his deceased elder brother. The depth of his concentration led the parents into impliedly evading the topic of discussion for fear of impending expression of emotion. Kelvin's parents and auntie all knew that the two had been one another's favorite. Jason was known to have possibly influenced his sibling into dreaming of being a medical doctor, a move that the parents had found quite impressive. Anyway, who wouldn't guess that academic elites are always happy when their children chose a coveted profession? However, things appeared slightly uncertain because a critical question was presently going without an answer.
Kelvin lived a straight-forward life and portrayed astute conduct, which was uncommon with the comparatively spoilt neighborhood boys. Of course, he was at the onset of adolescence, and the parents were often worried about how his situation would be when he reached the peak. A career counselor was later invited to help him think through his dream profession. Dr. Lena was a renowned counselor who had helped to shape the future of many children in this region. She had come in handy when Jason faced the same situation. Things looked quite different this time as it was easy to learn everything from her face. With parents having set standards so high, Kelvin choosing to venture in photography looked like a slap on their face, and hell seemed to break loose. Even subsequent visits by the celebrated career guider were like a drop of water in the ocean. The seventeen years old would also make it worse by hinting he would consider not pursuing any college education at all.
Soon after one month, Kelvin had already known that his parents were only comfortable if his choice was law or medicine.
