           Angina is a type of chest pain caused by a lack of adequate oxygen in the heart. This is due to reduced blood flow to the heart, resulting in painful tightening of the heart muscle. It is a warning sign of a heart condition like a heart attack or stroke. Nitroglycerin is a medication used to treat angina. It effectively relieves pain associated with the problem (Divakaran & Loscalzo, 2017). A specialist will prescribe the amount of Nitroglycerin the patient needs to take when they have episodes of angina. Nitroglycerin’s mechanism of action is vasodilation: relaxation of vascular smooth muscles throughout the body (Kim et al., 2021). This relaxation results in arteriolar and venous dilation. Common side effects of the medication include dizziness or lightheadedness, headache, flushing, nausea, vomiting, fast heart rate, and rash (Healthline.com, n.d.). 
           Nitroglycerin interacts with other drugs like Sildenafil, Vardenafil, Tadalafil, and Avanafil (Kim et al., 2021). Taking any of these drugs with Nitroglycerin can reduce blood pressure.
