This week, there are class readings and 2 TED talks to review. We also have another discussion board on the topic of managing conflict. As a group, your discussion board posts have had high quality, so keep up the good work. Remember to discuss: 1) toxic behaviors that may occur during your doctoral CSP project, 2) one conflict theory in the Quantum Leadership book in Chapter 6 or 7 to discuss and 3) Discuss how this information can help you as a leader in your environment.

During the implementation of the dissertation project, I was working with a group that comprised six members. As the group leader, I was tasked with ensuring that the project was completed per the set timeframes. Therefore, I had to ensure that group members delivered their delegated tasks. However, they were members who were not performing per the required standards and had to be supervised to carry out their duties. As a result, some of them got irritated easily and abused other group members whom they perceived as micro-managing their activities. This resulted in conflict among the group members, and I had to employ the necessary strategies to resolve the disputes.
The theory of people and behavior is effective in solving group conflicts. According to Maloch (2017), individuals involved in conflicts are determined to win at the expense of the other. As a mediator, it is essential to ensure that the solution does not end in a winner-loser scenario; hence need to utilize the best tactics to unbalance the situation. Effective communication is critical in resolving conflicts. Leaders must listen and restate their points to enable conflicting parties to understand all the pertinent issues and others' concerns.
