Your firm is a US leader in athletic footwear and wants to expand overseas thinking that the international segments would love your products. Additionally, this expansion can also include lower manufacturing costs then experienced in the United States.
You are to create an argument for this move to upper management based on careful analysis of a) cultural implications b) a culture gram for a country that your firm might seek expansion to and c) implications of global management.

A corporate global expansion strategy makes it possible for a company to expand its operations to more countries worldwide. To be a global company, an organization must extend its services to major continents across the globe. There are various strategies that companies can use to obtain and acquire global expansion plans; this may include establishing strategic partnerships, acquiring businesses, and building new facilities in different countries. The benefits of international expansion include entering and dominating the market, gaining access to local specialized talent, increasing business growth, and staying ahead of the competition. The costs of international expansion would include the high cost of setting and running the business, high compliance cost, and inability to adjust to cultural barriers.
Cultural implications
The United States-based athletic footwear company has resolved to expand its operations in China. The upper management in the firm has decided to expand its operations in China, which is estimated to lower the manufacturing costs. However, the United States and China have relatively different cultural practices that would influence China's success. Culture is a complex living pattern that humans develop and may be passed from one generation to another. Usually, culture comprises norms and values, including how people treat each other. Some of the cultural differences between the United States and China include that the Chinese society focuses on the group while the American society celebrates an individual (Bryant, 2019).
Further, conversations are facilitated differently between the United States and China. For instance, Americans place people in the context, and this helps in finding common ground. However, American business's language and tone may be regarded as rude and uncomfortable among the Chinese. On the other side, the Chinese emphasize thinking before speaking, and they show respect to those higher in the hierarchy. In this case, the Americans doing business in China will need to learn about indirect communication style.
Furthermore, it is critical to note that while countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom have short-term oriented culture, China's cultural orientation is long-term. In this case, United States-based companies doing business in China will likely be faced with contrasting models of intellectual processes that are likely to influence the business's success. Additionally, China's market must differ significantly from America's market; this is because the Chinese government has an active role and influences the business processes (Fang, Worm. & Zhao, 2008). In this case, the athletic footwear would be required to set a special unit focused on dealing with government relationships. Most critically, the Chinese business culture is hierarchical than America's corporate culture. For instance, the managers and leaders in China expect obedience from their subordinates, and during meetings, etiquette is crucial.
