In European history, one which was written as an exceptional event that happened during the middle of the fourteenth century was known as the Black Death. This event was caused by a plague that disturbingly took over the Eurasian Continent, where millions of mortalities were specified. The epidemic greatly affected the human population's statistics and the continuous manifestation of plagues in the Middle Eastern society (Dols, 2019). Black Death’s devastating outcome resulted in a drastic change in economics, politics, social institutions, and many more.
According to Jedwab et al. (2020), Black Death caused a significant impact on the European economy in both the short and long run. In their research, the population's demographic profile had considerably declined, which caused a significant increase in every individual's wages and capita income. Although, such events were just maintained from some parts of Europe, which can be considered a negative impact of the plague. Europe also had the chance to expand its economic partnership with other countries known as the Great and Little Divergence. While on the other hand, although Spain did not experience a tremendous increase in mortality rate compared to Europe, the economic impact was still there. Wages and incomes per head severely decreased because of the lessened productions due to decreased individual labor. In Spain, inequality amasses in the population as the Black Death its trigger cause (Alvarez Nogal et al., 2020). As every country's economic status was affected, politics was not left behind from the Black Death’s aftermaths. In northern Italy, from Florence, Genoa, Venice, and many more, wars and battle cries were abundant after the Black Death. While in Siena, the tremendous political regime, known as the Nove, who had ruled for over a hundred years, fell in 1355 because of the continuous factional conflicts. In the year 1368, due to the simultaneous unrests of conflicts everywhere, three political regimes were defeated (Cohn, 2002).
