So Long a Letter
The author of the reading “So Long a Letter” argues that the sublime to a sexual act should originate from love. The entire script describes various incidences of betrayal due to the desire of body satisfaction without the site of attraction. He also explains that his mother would take care of the baby while they continue with their studies. This statement is a relief to the poor woman and she overlooks the past mistake and accepts the achieved solution, despite the underlying mistake.
Also, Lady Mother-in-Law’s husband had neglected his first wife (hitherto) to marry her. While the unfaithful man was spending huge amounts of money on lady mother-in-law for leisure, his wife was suffering in poverty. The man had the option of seeking pleasure while still catering for the wife’s basic needs but he chose the most deviant of way to deprive her of everything.
