Book Report Instructions:
This assignment requires you to read and evaluate a book, to write a report, to quote and cite from the book, and to find an article on this book or writer, using proper MLA format (8th edition) for your quotes and bibliographical information. This assignment comes in (three) parts (A, B, C). Please complete all three (3) parts.
Part A (5%): Answer the following questions
- Who is your favourite writer? Answer in one complete sentence.
- Select your favourite book (fiction or non-fiction) that your favourite writer has written. What is the title of the book? Answer in one complete sentence.
- What is this book about? Briefly sum up what this book is about in 150-200 words.
Part B (8%): Write two (2) passages on (2) insights that the book is giving
- What makes this book your favourite book? Find two (2) insights that the book is giving. For each insight, write one (1) passage of about 200-250 words that states the insight and that uses the writer’s exact words or paraphrase, using MLA 8th edition, to elaborate on this insight. Write objectively and be sure not to repeat Question 3) in Part A). Part B) then provides two passages, one for each insight.
Part C (2%): Article and Works Cited
- Find one (1) article about your favourite book or writer through Seneca Library that might be of interest to you and that you would like to read (though interesting, Wikipedia does not count).
- Now create a Works Cited page that lists your favourite book and the article that you wish to read, following proper MLA 8th edition format (for example, don’t forget to centre the title, Works Cited, and so on). Please note that only correctly formatted entries on a correctly formatted Works Cited page, following MLA 8th edition, will receive marks.

My favorite book that was written by Saint-Exupéry is The Little Prince.
3. What is this book about? Briefly sum up what this book is about in 150-200
words.
The story of “The Little Prince” is about the story of a boy who once lived alone in an asteroid called B-612. While living alone a rose suddenly appeared and became the prince’s friend. As time goes by, the prince realized that he wants to go to another planet, and ended up in Earth due to a crash. It was there when he meets the fox and immediately became friends with him. However, as he wants to go back to his asteroid and reunite with his rose CITATION Enc175 \l 1033 (Encyclopædia Britannica). However, in order to do it, he would have to be bitten by a Desert Snake. In the end, this desire for the reuniting with this rose and his scorn of logic, led to his ultimate doom.
