Nursing Practice Problem and PICOT Question

Article Critique Instructions:

Prepare this assignment as a 1,500-1,750 word paper using the instructor feedback from the previous course assignments and the guidelines below.
PICOT Question
Revise the PICOT question you wrote in the Topic 1 assignment using the feedback you received from your instructor.
The final PICOT question will provide a framework for your capstone project (the project students must complete during their final course in the RN-BSN program of study).
Research Critiques
In the Topic 2 and Topic 3 assignments, you completed a qualitative and quantitative research critique on two articles for each type of study (4 articles total). Use the feedback you received from your instructor on these assignments to finalize the critical analysis of each study by making appropriate revisions.
The completed analysis should connect to your identified practice problem of interest that is the basis for your PICOT question.
Refer to "Research Critiques and PICOT Guidelines - Final Draft." Questions under each heading should be addressed as a narrative in the structure of a formal paper.
Proposed Evidence-Based Practice Change
Discuss the link between the PICOT question, the research articles, and the nursing practice problem you identified. Include relevant details and supporting explanation and use that information to propose evidence-based practice changes.
General Requirements
Prepare this assignment according to the APA guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

Nursing Practice Problem and PICOT Question
The nursing practice problem is anchored on research evidence that diabetes prevalence has increased, partially as a result of lifestyle changes and higher obesity rates globally. That said, self-management training is an essential intervention to enhance self-care practices’ knowledge among diabetes patients. Therefore, it is important to critique quantitative and qualitative research articles investigating diabetes self-management education as an intervention to enhance diabetes-related health outcomes and life quality amongst individuals living with type 2 diabetes. The PICOT question components include: (P) Adults with type 2 diabetes in the primary care setting, (I) does diabetes self-management with education (DSME) program intervention help control patients A1c? (C) when compared to the absence of self-management or DSME education (O), there will be a reduction in A1c (T) within three months. In this way, the PICOT question would be: does providing diabetes self-management with education for adults with type 2 diabetes reduce the A1c compared to patients who did not use self-management education?
Background
Qualitative Studies
Allory et al.'s (2020) article’s nursing problem was that deprived diabetic patients could not effectively implement self-care in the absence of facilitators. The primary significance of this study was to increase nursing practitioner involvement in promoting and encouraging the continued adoption of self-management in patients with diabetes so that the level of the chronic state of diabetes can be contained substantially and help patients achieve better health overall. The purpose was to identify respective facilitators of self-management and note the prospective obstacles that may prevent them from enrolling in DSME programs. The main objectives of the research were two, and these sought to identify barriers to facilitator entry into DSME programs and identify the local facilitators in France. The main research question was mainly posed to who the perceived facilitators of diabetes self-management are and the likely barriers that may prevent them from attending the DSME?
Schwennesen, Henriksen, and Willaing (2015) research problem entailed exploring the issue of patients’ failure to attend diabetes management educational programs. The article's purpose was to determine why patients do not attend or fail to attend diabetes management educational programs, even in the instance that they are provided to be attended. The significance of the study was to help uncover the main obstacles preventing patient attendance to diabetes management programs so that they eliminated and thus, help facilitate patient attendance to such self-management programs and improve the effectiveness of nursing diabetes. Objectively, the paper sought to find which main reasons patients provide for not attending self-management education programs. The question posed was, which factors prevent diabetic patients from attending self-management edu...
