Option #1: Qualitative Research: Annotated Bibliography
Utilizing the CSU-Global Library, locate and review three research articles on the topic of youth suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Select articles that utilize qualitative methodology. The CSU-Global Library is a good place to find these references.
Create an annotated bibliography (see the Annotated Bibliography Guide) that assesses the following: appropriateness of the qualitative perspective within the studies, which data gathering methods were utilized, and the significance of any specific theories used to guide the studies.
Your annotated bibliography should meet the following requirements:
•Be 2-3 pages in length, not including the cover page or reference page.
•Be formatted according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements.
Provide full APA citations for the articles under review. These citations should serve as the headings for your annotated bibliography, each followed by article summary content.
Do not use sources more than 10 years old.

Qualitative Research: Annotated Bibliography
Barron, G. I., Abdallah, G., and Smith, P. (2013). Randomized Control Trial of a CBT Trauma
Recovery Program in Palestinian Schools. Journal of Loss and Trauma, 18(4): 306-321. DOI: 10.1080/15325024.2012.688712
According to Barron et al., (2013), youths and children from war-torn areas are exposed to violence, which could result in trauma. Regardless, few group based trauma recovery platforms have been delivered and evaluated. The authors also acknowledge that the few evaluated failed to use control groups, random allocation, and program fidelity measures. In addition, Barron et al., (2013) mention that such studies had not been conducted in a region with ongoing violence before. Consequently, the authors used the Children’s Revised Impact of Events Scale tool to collect data. This implies that the collected data was coded and qualitative (like in a likert scale). It is critical that counselors experience was appraised using a focus group discussion with nine counselors that participated in the study. Simply put, the study in question qualifies as a qualitative study because qualitative because it used the Children’s Revised Impact of Events Scale and focus group discussions for data collection.
Ford, D. J., Kerig, K. P., and Olafson, E. (2014). Evidence-Informed Interventions for
Posttraumatic Stress Problems with Youth Involved in the Juvenile Justice System. National Child Traumatic Stress Network. Retrieved from /sites/default/files/assets/pdfs/trauma_focused_interventions_youth_jjsys.pdf
According to Ford, Kerig, and Olafson (2014), the effects that emerge after exposure to trauma should be treated when developing an informed juvenile system. This owes to the fact that over 80 percent of the juveniles included in the justice system report to have experienced trauma in their lives (Ford, Kerig, and Olafson, 2014). The authors also acknowledge that youths with traumatic experiences could develop an array of behavioral and emotional related problems. As a result, the authors made the publication after conducting a study with an aim of providing information that could aid juvenile systems to tackle problems related to trauma among the youth. It is important to highlight that the publication under discussion used secondary data to reach a conclusion on the problem statement. Specifically, the authors use other publications to reach a conclusion, which is evidenced by citations such as Kerig (2012). It follows that the publication is a qualitative study because it relies on ready-made publications to make a conclusion on the research question....
