The author reveals that the Nazis had the power and technology of today. Describing the defeat of Nazis as a great deed, he says it took a world war to stop them. Besides, the recent global innovation like nuclear power in the greed of controlling the world could cause as bad as the extinction of our species, generating the same effect as a totalitarian government. His Singleton Hypothesis helps by saying that obtaining a significant lead by gaining a technological breakthrough in artificial intelligence or molecular nanotechnology could give rise to one decisive controlling power in the world, which could survive for a long time with the help of these innovations. This power could prevent and inhibit internal challenges efficiently through technology like surveillance or autonomous weapons, and this monopoly could help them stay stable perpetually. Thus this article sufficiently supports the fact that technological advancements have reduced the previous threats to the rise and stability of a totalitarian government.

This article describes communist China as a totalitarian state. In Xinjiang, China is practicing Totalitarianism by using the top tools of social control to manipulate people into cultural oblivion, disregarding the social aspects of millions of people. Using technology to track online communications, facial recognition features to monitor the physical activities, controlling all mass and most social media is a pure and straightforward totalitarian approach lacking only the monitoring of everyone’s living room or, more precisely, keeping an eye upon everyone through their smartphone’s camera. The concentration of power in China has already matched that of the Nazis and Soviets, and today’s technology has provided the more potent mechanism for surveillance and control, predicting a more prolonged, stabilized totalitarian rule. Thus, this article supports the fact that we are once again entering an era of Totalitarianism, which is anticipated to be more assertive than the old totalitarian governments due to the strong influence of technology today.
