For this assessment task, you will be required to create an annotated bibliography which will help you to construct your actual essay for Written Assignment 2. An annotated bibliography is a list of citations or references, each followed by a short paragraph, called the annotation, which summarises and evaluates the source.
The essay question for this assessment is: C. Wright Mills stated that the ‘sociological imagination’ involved making a link between personal troubles and public issues and identified unemployment as one example of this link. Explain the ‘sociological imagination’ and use another example to show how personal troubles are linked to public issues.
This assessment task requires you to complete an annotated bibliography using the reading from week/module 2, ‘The sociological gaze: Linking private lives to public issues’ from Germov and Poole, and three additional scholarly/sociological sources.
For each source you need to provide the (1) full citation of the source, using Harvard referencing; (2) a description of the source; (3) an outline of how the source contributes to your essay topic; (4) an explanation of why the source is sociological. Each citation should be between 150–200 words including the citation.
To complete this assessment task, use the headings below as a template to structure your content. Each citation requires:
