In the modern sector that is characterized by challenges with limited access to finances. Sadly, the lending institutions cannot support everyone and besides, some people do not meet the requirements for financing from the financial institutions. In such instances, these individuals and some businesses have to turn to crowdfunding, which refers to pooling together to raise funds for a given course. The importance of this study is that it opens an alternative means of support for the vast majority of the people and organizations whose requirements cannot be supported by the financial institutions. Crowdfunding is the most efficient and effective source of funding for both businesses and organizations because it does not have the extensive requirements associated with lending institutions and also does not have strict timelines.
Background
Crowdfunding differs from the traditional business models in various ways. First, many of the crowdfunding projects are guided by targets and only succeeds when the target is reached or exceeded. Secondly, while traditional funding involves only a few large investors, crowdfunding involves hundreds or even thousands of small entrepreneurs and their friends or family members. This type of contribution has various advantages compared to the traditional funding model.
