Description
The first strength is on mercy and forgiveness, and this defines the ability to forgive those who have done wrong. However, the most important aspect is to give people a second chance and not seeking revenge incase of wrongdoing. Though, I understand that people do not think in the same way, I appreciate the need not to seek vengeance as this may not address the problem at hand. Similarly, I accept other people’s shortcomings, but I also expect that people understand this for them to effectively work in teams. Additionally, I appreciate what other people have done for me, and show gratitude for this. Related to this is the capacity to love and be loved, which in turn influence my resolve to be loyal and work to resolve conflicts in teams. Both top and bottom strengths are related to interaction with the people, but the bottom strength concerns appreciation of beauty and excellence.
I am an honest person who does not believing in taking short cuts to achieve one’s goal, but rather one should follow the right channels and be patient to realize their dreams. Everyone should take responsibility for their feelings and actions. Furthermore, being a down to earth person, I do not present an image that is inauthentic and instead act real. Though, one would ‘fake to make it,’ this stand does not define who I am as I believe that one ought to speak the truth and live without faking. This does not mean that I would not desire to be better, but it makes me happy when I can genuinely achieve what I desire individually and in a team. Despite being industrious I appreciate other people’s efforts, and I am modest on my accomplishments, and my belief in fairness has really shaped my character in being humble.
Identity test and learning
Though, the test did not reveal that I am empathetic, the top strengths do confirm that I am indeed merciful and honesty. However, I have been surprised that appreciating nature was the lowly score in the twenty four categories. I am not an eccentric person who loves experimenting with various art forms and this could be the reason for the score. I do love learning, but since I do not like museums this could explain the low score of yearning to learn. Overall, I am more comfortable with certainty and hence would prefer to work in teams where people show loyalty and where people can cooperate. Additionally, working in teams also calls for liaising with diverse team members, and is also related to the need to let everyone speak their mind in an environment where one does not hold prejudicial opinions about people. Nonetheless, I was surprised that the test revealed that I scored lowly on humor and creativity when ranking all the strengths, but beingcareful on choices I make contributes to the ranking.
