This wraps up my research project.
In order for Shoppers Drug Mart to maintain current leading market position, a number of implementation steps are recommended over short and long runs.
Over short run, Shoppers Drug Mart is strongly recommended to enhance current marketing strategies and create innovative campaigns.
Over long run, Shoppers Drug Mart is strongly recommended to invest in R&D and create new product lines to stay competitive, if not lead in a highly competitive market.
Timeline for short-run recommendations is as follows:
1-2 Months –
Taking advantage of end-of-year shopping season (i.e. Cyber Monday and Christmas and New Year), Shoppers Drug Mart should develop a creative promotion and sales campaign in order to capture revenue streams usually skyrocketing by year-end.
6 Months –
Investing more in current marketing strategy, Shoppers Drug Mart should upgrade current plans such as to optimize and organize promotion and marketing activities more effectively. Investing in digital marketing, something Shoppers Drug Mart appears to miss out on, is also strongly recommended for more visibility and exposure.
Starting to identify new profitable product and service lines and, if viable, invest in promising lines.
Developing a pricing strategy and a sales plan for newly identified product and service lines.
