Research Proposal Instructions:

follow instructions for this assignment, pay very close attention to every word. all information is needed have any question please reach out to me. I need a nonprofit organization for this specific assignment.
Part A: Organization or Agency Summary
Complete the library tutorial and use your research efforts to gather as much information about the organization or agency that you will be simulating. What you gather will depend on the type of organization you have chosen. You do not have to find everything on the following list, but the more data you provide the better your grade will be and the easier your final project will be.
Write a 1-2 page summary of the organization including its location, main mission, and organizational structure. Then, for your future reference, compile a document or file folder with hard and/or digital copies of as much of the following information as you can find
Not-for-Profit Organization Government Agency
1. Mission statement 1. Overview of your locality
2. Certificate of incorporation 2. Information about the various neighborhoods/sections of locality
3. 501(c) (3) letter 3. Overview of school system
4. Employer identification number (EIN) 4. Specific neighborhood/district school information
5. DUNS number (if it exists) 5. Overview of the agency
6. List of board members 6. Resumes of key staff members
7. Organization chart 7. Organization chart for your agency
8. Job descriptions for all positions
9. Number of full/part time staff
10. Number of regular volunteers
11. Resumes/biographies of key members
12. Most recent organization budget (with breakdown of budget via program)
13. Auditor’s report
14. Annual report
15. List of all current funding sources
16. Floor plan of organization’s physical space
16. Personnel policies and procedures
17. Disaster plan
*Note: you will not need to hand in copies of items on this list, but you will need to have access to this information as you complete assignments ahead.
Part B: Funder Information
Find a grant-maker with a funding opportunity that matches your organizations’ mission (current calls for proposal are preferable but you can also use an expired CFP). Locate a grant application package provided by that funder.
Write a 1-2 page summary that describes the funder. Be sure to outline the funder’s values and describe how their mission might overlap with or complement the mission of the organization you are simulating. Include any of the following information that you can locate:

About the Funder
Organization background: history, geographical location, revenue sources
Funding Priorities:
Past Awards: who won them? Dollar range?
Grant Cycle Description: What deadlines? When are reports due? How many CFP’s per year?
Relationship Building with Funder: Do they encourage interaction? How to communicate?
Other fun or interesting facts.

Part C: Outline
Using the Funder you described in Part B, locate one of their grant application packages or a Call for Proposals (CFP).
Create an outline you would use if you were writing a proposal for this funder. Include all the information they ask for in the order they request it in. (Remember: you are actually writing a proposal for this class so you would use this list “in real life” but for the sake of this simulation you will use the final paper’s rubric as your guide for what grant sections you’ll include in which order).
• Don’t omit questions
• Don’t change the order of questions
• Follow funder’s outline exactly
Part D: Title Page w/ Table of Contents
Using information you found about your organization and the examples of title pages provided on Blackboard, create a title page of your own. On your title page include a Table of Contents or section checklist that will act as a roadmap for the sections you will include later on.
Create a title page that includes a table of contents that lists the sections that will be included in your grant proposal.
*Note: use the rubric for the final paper assignment for this class to know what sections will be required in your completed grant proposal.
Assignment 2 Checklist
 1-2 page organization summary (Part A)
 1-2 page funder summary (Part B)
 1 page outline based on funder’s CFP (Part C)
 1 title page with Table of Contents based on final paper rubric (Part D)
 Create one double-spaced word document titled Writing Assignment #2. Label each part of your assignment A, B, C, or D. Upload your assignment by Sunday at midnight using the assignment link on Blackboard. Double check the rubric for WA_2 to make sure your content is complete and your style is appropriate.
