Introduction
Jeffrey Dahmer is a no ordinary killer; he is a renowned serial killer of all time in history. He was not just a killer but a cannibal, necrophilia as well as a killer. It seems incomprehensive how one single man would play the various roles in his life. This therefore has lead to the uprising of various books in efforts to convince the thought and the ideas of how Dahmer would play such dangerous roles in his life. In most cases the theories suggest that the behavior of Dahmer and other serial killers results from factors such as poor parenting, child abuse, and drug abuse and head trauma (Masters, p15).
However, Dahmer’s parents prove such theories wrong in that they did not abuse him but rather strived to ensure that they bring him up in all best possible manner. Therefore, herein are the events that took place in the life of Jeffrey Dahmer from his childhood, crimes, arrest, defenses and death, in efforts to help understand what made him be a serial killer of his caliber. Further are the aftermaths of the killings of the serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer.
Childhood and education
Having born in May 21 in the year 1960 he was brought up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by Lionel and Joyce Dahmer as their first born son. He was brought up together with his younger brother David in the township of Bath in Ohio. Despite the fact that this mother had some psychological complications, his father played the role of a loving father in order to fill the gap of Joyce the mother. However, Jeffrey was so much isolated and would like spending most of his time alone dissecting, and mutilating small animals such as cats, squirrels and cats. This had scared his parents who settled that it was just a boy thing but later it was to develop into blood thirsty disorder. His parents had disagreements and various minor fights that lead to their divorce. Therefore, Jeffrey went on to live with his father and grandmother. He had a short temper that made most of his schoolmates keep a distance because of the way he talked and behaved. However, he knew that if he would behave awkwardly in public it would call for his close observance. Later he learnt that it would be beneficial if he would join the best of his friends for a hung out and a drink. The drinking behavior as a teenager had developed as a result of his parents’ divorce. Upon graduating from high school he was left on his own by his father and grandmother.
Later in life, he joined college. With his mental illness his performance was poor. Therefore, he opted to drop out and his father again would force him to join military. In the army he opted for medicine and became a medic. However, he had developed a heavy drinking behavior that saw him barely complete the two years of his six years course in military. Following his failure in military, he received a free air ticket to visit which ever state he would want....
