Research Paper Instructions:

My field is health studies
(Library Research Assignment: About 4 pages double-spaced
Using UMass Online resources, find THE NAMES OF 4 scholarly JOURNALS that are highly prominent in the field you are hoping to enter (whether this is a professional field such as business, early childhood education or computer technology, or an academic discipline such as English or Political Science). NAME the four JOURNALS in your paper. You can just list these. (For example, The Journal of Computer Science, The Journal of Cultural Studies, Child Abuse & Neglect).
Then, read two articles (total) from two of these journals that were written in THE LAST TWO YEARS by different authors that discuss a topic of interest to you. Try to find two articles on the same or a related topic that are written by different authors and published in different journals.
Provide a one paragraph summary of each article, stating its main points. Then compare and contract the articles. You may address some of the following questions or center your discussion on other points of interest to you:
What are some of the differences between the articles in their approach to the topic?
Which article do you think is easier to read & better written? What makes it so?
Which article do you find more helpful & why?
Which article do you agree with more & why?
If you have some experience with the topic at hand, feel free to integrate it here.
For this paper, you are asked to name 4 scholarly JOURNALS. You may be wondering how you can tell if a given article comes from a scholarly journal. First of all, at the UMass Library website you can limit your search to scholarly (or "peer reviewed" or "refereed") journals. Second, here are some tips:
A scholarly journal is peer-reviewed periodical in which scholarship relating to a particular academic discipline is published. A scholarly journal is a type of periodical that contains articles written by scholars, researchers, or other specialists in a particular area of study, supported by in depth research. These are usually documented with footnotes and/or a list of references. Popular magazines (e.g., Time, U.S. News & World Report, and Sports Illustrated) or newspapers (e.g., New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, U.S.A. Today) are not scholarly journals. Professional magazines are not scholarly journals. When in doubt, clear your publications with the instructor before writing your paper. This webpage will help you understand what IS and what is NOT a scholarly journal: http://guides(dot)library(dot)cornell(dot)edu/scholarlyjournals
YOU MUST USE CORRECT APA CITATIONS FOR THE TWO ARTICLES AT THE END OF YOUR PAPER. Please ask questions about this assignment in the discussion area set up for this purpose. The most common mistakes people make on this assignment: 1) They list four articles rather than four journals. 2) They fail to include interesting titles with their papers. 3) Their reference list at the end does not follow APA citation style.
I hope you have fun with this assignment. See it as an opportunity to become more familiar with some of what has been writting about your field.)

Summary of Article 1
The article by Wikström et al. (2022) is founded on the idea that access to information is one of the critical resources needed to improve outcomes following surgical interventions. The authors note that recruiting patients to ensure positive post-surgery outcomes rests on the capacity to provide convenient access to information. In this regard, the authors note that there have been several e-health applications designed to improve information access for patients who have undergone operative procedures. Wikström et al. (2022) subject the existing research on these applications to a comprehensive review to determine provider and patient perceptions regarding their efficacy. Therefore, the article takes the form of a review of qualitative and quantitative studies published between 2015 and 2020, providing a scoping overview of provider and patient perceptions. Despite the variance in the methods of the studies reviewed, Wikström et al. (2022) found that a positive perception of the e-health app was linked to improved compliance with self-care guidelines. Moreover, the need for physical visits decreased significantly. Overall, the article supports the use of e-health applications to improve self-care for patients recovering from post-operative procedures.
Summary of Article 2
Ferguson et al. (2022) address the role that wearable activity trackers play in improving physical activity as a tool for improved health and well-being. The researchers base their research on the fact that wearable trackers are an increasingly popular and low-cost tool that can be used to improve behavior related to physical activity. The article is a systematic literature review that seeks to define the position of the existing research on the impact of wearable trackers on physical, psychological, and psychosocial health outcomes. The researchers concluded that activity trackers had a clinically significant impact on physical activity, body composition, and fitness. The researchers further observed that wearable trackers produced up to 1800 extra steps amounting to over 40 minutes per day more walking. These improvements in physical activity produced an estimated one kilogram in body weight reduction. Most importantly, these positive results were sustained over a long-term duration. These conclusions suggest that wearable devices are indeed a beneficial tool in helping improve physical activity.
Differences between the Articles
Despite focusing on the various ways that health technology can be used to enhance health promotion, the articles by Wikström et al. (2022) and Ferguson et al. (2022) approach the issue from varying angles. On the one hand, Wikström et al. (2022) focus primarily on the quantitative aspects of the issue. Specifically, the article by Wikström et al. (2022) fo...
