For instance, the mortality due to measles was about 733 000 in 2000. Following this, major international health organizations have endeavored to eradicate the disease. This paper focuses on the requirements to eradicate the disease as well as its widespread. The eradication of measles requires a complete understanding of related factors. Among them include, biological feasibility, availability of high-quality vaccines, operational feasibility, scale of resources and cost-effectiveness, political and financial commitment and strength and synergy of health programs (Holzmann et al., 2016). Biological feasibility In order to eliminate measles, child health organizations and governments should determine the biological feasibility of the project. This will enable the existing task force to work with achievable objectives. According to the International Task Force of Disease Eradication, measles has been labeled as one of the diseases whose eradication is biologically feasible (Cochi, 2017). In this manner, health organizations will be able to use their available tools to conduct worldwide routine immunization. Full eradication can be achieved when the spread of the disease is curtailed by the vaccines. Therefore, measles can be eliminated through child vaccines conducted in all regions of the world. Operational feasibility Elimination of measles requires a program and a feasible operation. Operational feasibility is supported by accurate data of specific regions across the globe. For instance, in 2002, the region of America was able to sustain transmission with regards to the elimination of measles (Hinman, 2018). This means that there was more progress and against a few challenges towards the project. However, measles has spread to all regions of the world; regions like the South-East Asia Region still provide challenges towards achieving set objectives.
