Introduction
Black (1955) and the love song (2001) are films articulated by a prominent American non-narrative filmmaker Stan Brakhage who was considered the most important personalities within the film industry in the 20th century. Brakhage developed diverse body exploring a variety of techniques and approaches necessary for perfect film productions such as camerawork, painting onto celluloid, camera editing, and fast cutting. Brakhage films are perfect for their lyrism and expressiveness through his interest in mythology and inspiration by music, visual phenomenon, and poetry (Brakhage, 2001). Brakhage explored about the incorporated various important and universal films aspects such as sexuality, mortality and innocence to promote his work. The purpose of this proposal is to elucidate the similarities and differences between Stan Breakage’s Reflection on Black (1955) and lovesong (2001).
